Toshiba Spins Out New Qosmio Gaming Laptops, Upgraded Mainstream Laptops, All-in-One Desktops And Tablets

Toshiba today announced two new high-performance Qosmio laptops, the Satellite L800, C800, P800 and S800 series laptops, along with the All-in-One LX815 and LX835 Desktop PCs and three new Excite tablets.

Excite 13 AND Excite 7.7 AMOLED tablets

Toshiba announced a trio of new Android tablets, the massive Excite 13, the AMOLED-equipped Excite 7.7, and the mainsteam Excite 10.

The three new tablets feature elegant and sturdy aluminum shells and scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass displays. They are powered by Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich and the new NVIDIA Tegra 3 processors. Each tablet is also equipped with a 5-megapixel camera on the back, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The tablets also include stereo speakers with sound enhancements by Toshiba and SRS Labs, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Excite 10, a mainstream 10.1-inch (1280x800) tablet meant to replace the 'Thrive' model, has an AutoBrite LED Backlit display and should last for about 10 hours on a charge. Built-in ports include Micro USB, Micro HDMI and a full-size SD card slot. It carries a starting price of $449 MSRP for the 16GB model, $529 MSRP for the 32GB model and $649 for the 64GB model. The device goes on sale May 6th.

The Excite 13 comes with a 13.3-inch display with a native 1600x900 resolution. It is 0.4 inches thin and weighs 2.2 pounds. The tablet can last for 13 hours of battery life and carries a full SD card slot along with micro USB and micro HDMI. It will cost $649 for the 32GB version and $749 for the 32 GB model.

The Excite 7.7 is the first Toshiba tablet with a 7.7-inch 1280x800 AMOLED display. It is as thin as 0.3 inches while remaining bright and color-rich. Having such a small size puts it down to just 13.4 ounces, and while it drops micro HDMI, it has both the requisite micro USB and a microSD card slot.

Prices for the Excite 7.7 start at $499 for the 16GB version and $579 for the 32GB version, which is a bit steep for a device of its size.
