Samsung Attempts To Ban Sales Of Apple's Upcoming iPhone

In an effort to defend itself against legal claims by Apple, Samsung is reportedly considering a new legal action against rival Apple, hoping to ban sales of Apple's new iPhone, scheduled for release next month.

According to a Reuters report, the S. Korean company is considering new legal actions to ban sales of Apple's upcoming iPhone, without providing any additional information on where these legal actions could take place.

In addition, the Maeil Business Newspaper today reported that the South Korean firm may seek injunction request on Apple's new iPhone in Europe.

Samsung has not officially commented on the ongoing legal issues, which run in nine countries already. They are all releted to Apple's and Samsung's flagship smartphone and tablet products.

Apple has already blocked Samsung from selling its latest tablets in Germany and some smartphone models in the Netherlands and forced its rival to delay launching new tablets in Australia.

Apple first sued Samsung in April, claiming its strongest competitor had copied its product designs, and Samsung had since counter-sued, arguing Apple infringed on its mobile technologies.

Despite their legal disputes, Samsung is a major supplier of chips and displays for Apple's smartphones and tablet products.
