Google Realtime Search Goes Offline

Google has taken the Google Realtime Search page offline as the company tries to incorporate Google+ into this functionality.

Google's Realtime search had carried content from a variety of services including Twitter, Facebook fan page updates. However, according to Danny Sullivan's article in @sengineland, Google's agreement with Twitter to carry its results expired on July 2. However, although Google is curently not having access to this special feed from Twitter, information on Twitter that?s publicly available to its crawlers is still searchable and discoverable on Google.

Google also stressed that when Google Realtime Search relaunches it will include content from a variety of sources and not just be solely devoted to Google+ material.

"We've temporarily disabled google.com/realtime. We're exploring how to incorporate Google+ into this functionality, so stay tuned," reads Google's Twitter feed.
