Nvidia Introduces Entry-level GT 520 GPU

Nvidia has today introduced the GT 520 GPU, the company's response to AMD's Radeon HD 6450 offering.

The latest addition to Nvidia's Fermi consumer GPU family offers a leap in performance over today?s integrated graphics solutions and as such, will be used almost entirely in the system builder market (3DPC) to bring more affordable DX11 systems to the masses.

The new GT 520 takes the place as the lowest cost DX11 GPU in Nvidia'a product line-up, delivering support for the latest DX11 games at lower resolutions as well as support for viewing Blu-ray movies, photographs, and Web content?all in stereoscopic 3D, courtesy of NVIDIA 3D Vision technology.

The low profile GeForce GT 520 will be available in 1GB and 2GB DDR3 configurations (64bit). The 40nm GPU packs 48 CUDA cores, it is clocked at 810 MHz and the SP clock is 1620 MHz.

Available outputs for standard configuration include HDMI x1 (1.4a, xvYCC, Deep color and 7.1 digital surround sound), Dual link DVI x1 and VGA x1.

Effective today, the GT 520 will be available immediately from the Nvidia's AIC, channel, and system builder partners.
