Microsoft to Offer Office 2010 Free Upgrade in March

According to information leaked online, Microsoft plans to offer a free upgrade to Microsoft Office 2010.

The information was posted online on Charles Van Heusen's weblog. Mr. Heusen is a Microsoft technology specialist.

According to the upgrade plan, users who will purchase qualifying Office 2007 product (with or without a new PC) from an authorized reseller between March 5 - September 30, 2010 will be eligible to downloads Office 2010 for free when it will be available. Alternatively, users will be also able to order an Office 2010 DVD for a fee.

In order to enjoy the offer, all those who will purchase Office 2007 within the aforementioned period should install and activate Office 2007 before September 30, 2010. The Office 2010 upgrade plan will be valid until October 31, 2010, according to the leaked information.

Below are some of the Office 2007 products customers can purchase and activate between March 5 and September 30, 2010 to be eligible for the Office 2010 upgrade:



Microsoft has not confirmed the leaked information.

Office 2007 Home and Student currently sells for $105 at Amazon.com. That's $45 less than the planned $149 list price for Office Home and Student 2010.
