JVC to Release New XV-BP1 Blu-ray Player in Japan

JVC?s XV-BP1 new Blu-ray disc player will be shipped in Japan next month, offering BD-Live, support for DivX and MPEG-4 video including MKV and a USB port.

The company's latest Blu-ray player will ship in Japan next month for about JY 42,000 ($440).

The player is BD-Live ready, supports the Cinema Standard (1080/24p) as well as reproduction of AVCHD disk and video files, DivX and MPEG-4 video including MKV files.

A USB port is conveniently placed on the front panel of the player and it can be used to transfer video and audio files from your PC to the player.

The supported disc media formats include BD-ROM, BD-R/RE (BDMV/BDAV with CPRM), DVD video, DVD-R/RW (video/VR) and DVD-R/R DL/RW. AVCHD disk, DVD+R/RW (video), DVD+R DL, audio CDs, and CD-R/CD-RW can be also read.

The HDMI output supports 1080p/24Hz and can be also output 1080/60p progressive video after upscaling the contents of a standard DVD video disc.



The supported PC media files include Media files MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (.mp4/.mkv) 720?576, DivX (.avi/.divx). 720?480, JPEG, PNG, and GIF of MPEG-2 (.mpg/.mpeg). MP3 (8-320kbps) and WMA (32-164kbps) can be also reproduced.

Audio outputs inlcude bit stream, Dolby NR TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio and linear PCM. The player is not equipped with any analog multichannel audio outputs.
