JVC Launches New 500GB Blu-Ray Recorder

The recorder uses a 500GB hard disk drive to store video content in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format, it is equipped with two Digital TV Tuners, and an analog TV Tuner and comes with HDMI/S-Video/Digital outputs. In addition, the device supports direct recording on BD-R/RE media.

The device offers three quality settings for recording of digital broadcasts on teh HDD or Blu-ray media (AF/AN/AE). The AE setting for example allows recording of about 10 hours and 40 minutes on 25GB BD-R/RE discs. In addition, the recorder supports Panasonic's AVCREC funstion for storing HD content on DVD-R/RW dicscs. Recording on DVD-R media (VR) is also an option using one of the usual XP/SP/LP/EP quality settings.



The included SD card slot interface allows you to store AVCHD video content from your video camera to the HDD of Blu-ray media.
