Japanese Plextor Ltd. today announced that the company transferred its optical drive manufacturing and sales business to its parent company, the Shinanokenshi Ltd..
The integration of project development, design, manufacturing, sales and support into Shinanokenshi Ltd. is expected to accelerate the company's plans to expand its business. The company also expects that the move will make Plextor products more competitive.
Shinanokenshi Ltd. will continue to use the Plextor brand for optical drives, the company said in a statement. End-user support for the Plextor drives will be also continued.
