Panasonic Released Notebook with 1,000 Nit Screen Brightness

Toughbook CF-30 rugged notebook delivers fixed mount screen brightness in a portable computer - the first to achieve this level of outdoor readability.

Panasonic today announced that it has achieved an engineering milestone with the availability of 1,000 Nit (candelas per square meter, a measure of brightness) displays in its Panasonic Toughbook CF-30 notebook computers.

Toughbooks have long used anti-glare and anti-reflective screen coatings, coupled with bright displays, in order to improve outdoor visibility. The result of Panasonic's leadership in engineering mobile computing solutions, the new CF-30 is twice as bright as most rugged notebooks and several times brighter than standard form factor notebooks. Even with this advancement, the CF-30 still delivers a battery life of more than 6 hours (depending on conditions of usage), in a form factor designed to withstand the extreme conditions faced by law enforcement agencies every day.

"One of the reasons we have continued to recommend the purchase of Toughbooks is because Panasonic listens to their customers and constantly looks for innovative ways to support the work we do every day," said Chris Gore, Mobile Data Administrator, Harris County Sheriff's Office. "This technology truly raises the bar for law enforcement and other professionals required to work in daylight conditions."
