AOpen Releases Viiv Motherboard For Home Media Centers

Aopen releases in the European market the i945GTm-VHL, an MoDT (Mobile on DeskTop) micro-ATX motherboard, which supports Intel Core Duo CPUs and Intel Viiv technology.

Powered by the Intel?945GT Express graphics controller, the motherboard promises high graphics performance in your living room. The onboard Intel Gigabit Ethernet LAN control chip delivers fast network data communication. Last but not least, the Intel ICH7MDH chipset ensures the i945GTm-VHL is ready to support Intel Viiv Technology.

You can connect to an LCD monitor over the DVI connector and to HDTV over the S-Video connector, but you can also connect to a conventional analog video display. The Intel High Definition 7.1-channel audio and S/PDIF IN/OUT interface provides digital audio to home theater applications. The Intel ICH7MDH chip supports RAID 0 (striping) and RAID 1 (mirroring) functions over the Serial ATA interface to backup data.

The board will be available end of April.
