Kyocera Announces the Release of the Finecam L30

Kyocera Corporation has announced the release of the Kyocera Finecam L30 compact digital camera in mid November 2003. The camera features an enhanced function for moving images through the use of the MPEG4 format. The camera also has 16 MB of built-in memory.

The MPEG4 file format enables moving image files to be compressed to a size significantly smaller than that used in conventional digital cameras. Using this format, the Kyocera Finecam L30 is now able to shoot moving image for a longer period than before. The camera also allows moving images to be shot consecutively until the capacity of the memory card is reached.

The camera body has 16 MB of built-in memory, enabling you to take photos without a memory card. Moreover, since the power source is compatible with AA alkaline batteries, you do not need to worry about running out of batteries as they can be readily purchased. The camera incorporates an optical 3x zoom lens and CCD, with an image pickup device of 3,170,000 effective pixels to provide a total of 3,340,000 pixels. Thanks to the use of image interpolation, the camera allows high-quality still images to be shot at equivalent to 5,000,000 pixels.
