Sharp Announces New 3.5 Inch Advanced-TFT Mobile Display

Sharp introduced a low power consumption 3.5 inch QVGA TFT-LCD for mobile multimedia devices.

As a higher performance upgrade of the LQ035Q7DH01, this new module features 225 nits of brightness from the six white LED backlights. The new QVGA mobile display also includes a bright panel with transflective properties and 262,144 colors.

The module is 225 nits bright while offering four percent reflectivity. The display also features an integrated touch panel that simplifies the design process by allowing design engineers to include a user interface, lending itself to a greater range of applications.

With QVGA resolution the module could eb used in mobile products with audio/visual capabilities -- such as portable media players, handheld gaming devices and portable DVD players.

This display panel only requires a Sharp supplied ASIC timing control chip, Part Number LZ9FC23.

Sharp will demonstrate this new panel during the 2005 Americas Display Engineering and Applications Conference (ADEAC) at Booth 21. ADEAC will be held in Portland, Ore. on October 25-26, 2005. The LQ035Q7DH06 will be available beginning in November 2005.
