AOpen DUW1616L Hit Shelves

AOpen's latest DVD recorder is available for less than $60.

The AOpen DUW1616L half-height ATAPI recorder supports 16X DVD+R/DVD-R, 8X DVD+R DL and 4X DVD-R DL writing speeds. The drive also takes advantage of an improved anti-heat design means and also features a new technology developed independently by AOpen that can reduce noise form optical device.

In addition, the Automatic Tilt Calibration System (ATCS) will reposition the Optical Pickup Unit (OPU) to maintain a 90-degree angle between the laser beam and the disc surface at all times ensuring an optimal spot shape, even on warped discs. The disc rotation speed will also slow down automatically to ensure data reading with unbalanced discs.

The Running Optimum Power Control (ROPC) system is also supporte to ensure recording reliability.

The DUW1616L is available online for US $59.
