PowerCinema: "Designed to DLNA Guidelines" as a Digital Media Player and Server

CyberLink, a member of the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA), announced CyberLink PowerCinema has met the requirements of the DLNA Home Networked Device Interoperability Guidelines for both digital media players (DMP) and servers (DMS).

The DLNA's "Designed to DLNA Guidelines" (D2G) program includes mandatory requirements for interoperability between networked devices, including PC-based and consumer electronics devices. PowerCinema has passed a conformance checklist and demonstrated interoperability as a player and server of digital media content across a UPnP network.

CyberLink PowerCinema now lets users play digital content stored on other devices via a UPnP network and deliver digital content to UPnP certified devices on the network.

"Server and player interoperability is essential to delivering the anytime, anywhere functionality expected by users of the Digital Home," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. "By passing the Designed to DLNA Guidelines for both technology categories, CyberLink has demonstrated its complete readiness for home networking."
