Acer at Computex 2005

Acer's cproducts showcased includes the new Ferrari 4000 notebook, the Red Dot TravelMate 3000 notebook, multi-functional LCD TVs and monitors, and dual-core desktop PCs.

What's more, visitors will find digital still cameras, projectors, handhelds, enterprise products, Folio-design notebooks and the media gateway all exhibited at Acer's booth.

Ferrari 4000 notebook
The latest in the exclusive racecar series of notebooks born from the victorious partnership between Acer and Scuderia Ferrari, the Ferrari 4000 is the first notebook on the market that uses a carbon-fiber cover. The custom-designed cover, which is half the weight of aluminum and eight times the resilience of steel, is glazed in a high-gloss mirror coating just like the paintwork on Ferrari racecars. The Ferrari 4000 is powered by AMD Turion 64 processor technology and ATI MOBILITY RADEON? X700 graphics, with a widescreen 15.4" LCD, and utilizes PCI Express architecture.

TravelMate 3000 notebook
Using the newest generation of Intel Centrino mobile technology and an Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG network solution, the TravelMate 3000 boasts a widescreen 12.1" LCD, yet measures a scant 25 mm in height and weighs just 1.4 kg. The TravelMate 3000 occupies less desk surface than an A4 page. Germany's Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen recently awarded the TravelMate 3000 with its coveted Red Dot for superior design quality.

Multifunctional LCD TVs and monitors
Acer's 32" LCD TV - the AT3201W - sports sleek lines, sculpted curves and a cool metallic finish. It offers a 16:9 wide-aspect display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. Moreover, the HD-ready display delivers realistic imagery and high audio performance.

Acer is also displaying a choice of 17", 19" and 20" LCD monitors, from cost-effective models to those that offer an in-home cinematic experience.

Dual-core desktops
Acer's Veriton and Aspire desktop PCs incorporate Intel CPU dual-core technology - chips with two brains that enable computers to handle more information simultaneously. Another unique feature is the user interface for desktop PCs, comprising: Acer eRecovery Management to recover applications and drivers, back up data, and provide password protection; Acer eLock Management to protect data by preventing unauthorized access and writing to external devices; and Acer eDataSecurity Management to safeguard data confidentiality.
