RIAA Announces International Licensing Program For DualDisc Logo

The Recording Industry Association of America has announced a newly-created program through which any record label can obtain a license for use of the logo for DualDisc, a new product which combines music, film and video on a single, two-sided disc.

The CD side of every DualDisc contains a full-length audio album while the DVD side offers a wide range of exclusive content incorporating such features as the same album in enhanced sound (such as 5.1 Surround Sound or enhanced LPCM stereo), music videos, interviews, photo galleries, web links, concert footage, lyrics and more. DualDiscs are intended for use on CD and DVD hardware devices such as DVD players, car stereos, PCs, and CD players.

Use of the DualDisc logo is available to any record label, independent or major, U.S. or international-based, for a nominal fee. Trial licenses are available for those labels that desire to explore market interest in DualDiscs for their artists.
