Abit USA announces 2004 results

Abit Computer Corporation has announced strong sales growth in the US market in 2004.

2004 was a banner year for Abit, with total sales in the US growing by nearly 52%. With its platform segmentation evenly split 50-50 between Intel and AMD, Abit?s performance, mainstream, and value segments accounted for 19%, 60%, and 21%, respectively. Abit?s performance boards, such as the AA8 and AV8 Series, are doing exceptionally well among its core audience of PC enthusiasts. In particular, the new Fatal1ty AA8XE is experiencing high demand, having been named, by PC Perspective, as the best Intel gaming motherboard available on the market.

Abit USA continues to enjoy strong support from partners such as Intel, AMD, Nvidia, and ATI. Abit has also established new partnerships in the distribution channel. Bell Microelectronics, for instance, one of the largest distributors in the US, has begun carrying a full line of Abit products, including its server products. CompUSA has also started introducing Abit?s performance motherboards through its retail stores. Major e-tailers such as NewEgg, Tiger Direct, Zipzoomfly, CDW and Buy.com also carry Abit products. Performance gaming PC maker Alienware has started building systems with Abit motherboards and is ramping up the number of models included in their system lineup.

In 2005, Abit USA plans to further increase its end-user support ? support that Anandtech called ?unmatched in the US? among the motherboard manufacturers. Already, Abit USA has opened an online Abit Parts Store, enabling users to obtain Abit parts. Users only have to cover shipping and handling fees. In 2005, Abit USA also plans to strengthen its relationships with existing partners, such as ASI, D&H, Ma Labs, Bell Microelectronics, SED, Synnex and Ingram Micro, as well as build new relationships with other partners across the US, Canada and Latin America.

Abit is quickly becoming known as a motherboard maker that is working to cater to the gamers, enthusiasts and overclockers. Gaming and high-performance DIY segments will continue to be a focus for Abit. The 2005 roadmap lines up strong product lines for Intel and AMD platforms as well as ATI-based graphics cards. Abit USA also plans to expand its focus to education and government markets, and meanwhile it continues to grow its market share.
