Message Text: Canon has announced the 4Mp PowerShot A85, the successor to its popular A70, and claims that the camera boasts improved ergonomics and styling and several feature improvements.

New features include a 1.8-inch LCD, six new scene presets, the ability to record VGA movie clips with sound, 9-point auto focus and extended print functionality.

The camera has a 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 35-105mm) with a maximum aperture of f2.8-f4.8. The A85 offers 13 different shooting modes (including manual, aperture priority and shutter priority) and PictBridge compatibility for computer-less printing.

With a suggested retail price of £204 plus VAT, the PowerShot A85 will be on sale in August.
