Message Text: NEC 2500A, named as 2500A+ , started being sold at Japan supporting...

...reading/writing of DVD+R DL discs, DVD-ROM booktype (for +R/+R DL) media and region free (RPC1) status!

A company named Utobia, official NEC distributor at Japan, sells the 2500A+ drives, which are physicaly the same as the 2500A model, but include the new "improved" features...

As you may understand, this is not an official model, but a normal ND2500A flashed with un-official firmware.

We are not so sure if NEC actually approved this model, hopefully we will find out soon :-)

Update: Thanks to our Japanese viewers, we found out that it has been confirmed, the NEC 2500A+ is a ND-2500A with Herrie's 107v2B5 firmware installed...

Till this moment we don't know if this is official from NEC or un-official, users take care before buying any NEC 2500A+. Our Japanese visitors can visit PC5 Japanese BBS and Akiba PC Hotline for more information...
