Message Text: Obtibase has announced that they are to release a Mac-compatible version of MovieMaker 200S, its MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 encoding board at the IBC conference, this September in Amsterdam.

The MovieMaker 200S is designed for content creation and video professionals that create content for DVDs, SVCDs and VCDs, complementing Apple's DVD Studio Pro, well as other DVD, SVCD and VCD authoring tools, by speeding the encoding phase, according to Optibase.

MPEG MovieMaker 200S supports advanced encoding features including: bit-rates up to 10Mbps, VTR control, digital inputs, real-time 5.1 Dolby Digital pass through, variable bit-rate encoding and automatic scene detection. It also offers live preview while encoding.
