In the 7th edition of a prestigious optoelectronics industry event sponsored by Taiwan's Photonics Industry & Technology Development Association (PIDA), BTC's 8X speed DVD Dual burner was awarded with an "Outstanding Optoelectronics Product Award".
The award selection, which resulted from a rigorous set of tests which took over 4 months and which consisted of a three stage selection (primary, secondary, final selection) procedure, was officially announced on June 9th, 2004.
In total 10 companies had entered products into this competition. The DRW1008IM, an 8X speed dual format DVD burner produced by BTC, managed to impress the jury and was therefore awarded with this internationally recognized prize. The award was presented on June 9th by the event's organizer PIDA and a representative of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, who expressed hope that the Taiwan Optoelectronics industry may continue improve their skills in this highly competitive environment in order to develop Taiwan into the focus of the world's optoelectronics industry.
