Message Text: According to DigiTimes, Altek last week started volume production of 4-megapixel digital cameras for OEM clients, including Kodak.

Approximately two-thirds of Kodak’s digital cameras sold in 2003 were made by Altek. Altek will be concentrating on the 4 megapixel model as they shift focus of their OEM production from medium resolution level to 3 to 6 megapixels.

Altek will also begin production of phone camera lens modules in August or September, and will launch entry-level DVs (digital video camcorders) equipped with CCD image sensors next year and plans to eventually offer high-end DVs with 10x optical zoom lenses.
