Message Text: Following Plextor and Cyberdrive, LiteOn announced the upcoming SOHW-1213S ATAPI 12x DVD burner. The drive support 12x DVD+R (single layer), 8x DVD-R, and 4x DVD+RW/-RW writing. The drive Availability is expected in the middle of June.

The burner also offers 12x DVD-ROM read and is a 40x24x40x CD-RW recorder.

SO = Sony Alliance
H = Half Height
W = ODD type, DVDRW
12 = Speed, 12x (Digits for major speed spec)
1 = DVD-Dual
3 = 3rd LiteOn generation
S = Pickup supplier, Sanyo DB11S

The "heart" of the new burner is the MediaTek MT1816B/1828, changed over the MT1816B/1818 used for SOHW-832S and SOHW-812S (MT1816B/1818). So what should we expect next? Let's say the SOHW-1613S..
