 Sony announces postal stamp-size TV tuner module with built-in FM tuner

Message Text: Sony will soon commercialize the BTF-ZK48X, a postal stamp-size, miniature TV tuner module with a built-in FM tuner.

The device consumes 0.63W, 20% less than its predecessors, and is designed for use in cellphones and other mobile devices. The product supports both terrestrial TV and FM signal reception at a signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio of 47dB.

The ultra-compact unit measures 25x20x2.6mm and weighs only 2.6g. Sample shipment starts in May with a price of 35,000 yen ($310).
