Message Text: The Japanese company Matsushita Electric Industrial presented DVD-S37, a new stand alone progressive-scan DVD burner/player. The DVD player supports a wide variety of disc and data formats, such as DVD-Video, music CD, DVD-RAM, MP3 and WMA and also it is able to process MP3, WMA and JPEG files. It is equipped with the TSAP (Transport Service Access Point) digital-analog video converter.

Its advanced progressive playback capability can faithfully reproduce the pictures and sounds of the original video at high resolution and quality. The player also features a one-touch audio/video enhancer function to ensure the best possible picture quality.

It has also stereophonic analog, coaxial and optical audio outputs. As for video processing it has a D2 video output, component and composite video outputs, and also an S- video output. The open-priced unit measures 430x227x55mm and weighs 1.9kg.

It will be put on the Japanese market on 20 April, 2004, at the tentative price of 15000 Japanese Yen (144 US dollars).
