Message Text: LiteOn America announced its first DVD NetPlayer, the LVD-2010. This network connectable DVD player merges plug-and-play capabilities with the latest in home entertainment technology, including playback of streaming video and audio contents stored in PCs, listening to WebRadio via the Ethernet and the viewing of high quality MPEG4 and XviD video.

Once the included Media Server applet is installed on the PC and the Ethernet cable connections are established, the LVD-2010 can pull many file types from the PC including WMA music, JPEG still images, MP3 files and the many MPEG (1, 2 & 4) formats and play those back in a home entertainment environment. After the LVD-2010 is installed, just scroll through the lists of audio, video and photo files for playback.

Additionally, the LVD-2010 has Progressive Scan output and a Dolby Digital decoder. Formats recognized by the LVD-2010 include DVD, video CDs, music CDs, and MP3 tracks.

Thanks to the internet radio (WebRadio) feature offered on the LVD-2010, listening choices are no longer limited to the local radio stations. With the built in Ethernet connectivity, access to internet radio stations and playback through the TV or A/V system is performed by a click of a pre-programmed button on the remote control.

Volume shipments begin this quarter.
