LaCie has launched a new line of desktop hard drives with a triple interface: dual
FireWire 800 ports, one FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 ports. The drives are available
in six capacities, from 160-500GB, with prices ranging from £134 to £359 plus VAT.
The d2 Triple Interface drives claim a drive spin speed of 7200 rpm. Following the
design of previous d2 drives, the Triple Interface drives can be stacked,
rack-mounted or placed upright, LaCie claim. A DV cable is provided to permit
digital video footage to be downloaded direct from a camcorder.
The drives come complete with Silverlining Pro for Mac OS 9.x, drive management
utilities for Mac and Windows and SilverKeeper 1.1 for Mac OS 9 & X easy back-up
software, and a compatible OHCI FireWire 800 interface. |
