Message Text: APPLE is boasting more than one million downloads of its newly released iTunes music software for Windows.

In the three and half days since the launch of the software, more than one million songs had been purchased from Apple's iTunes Music Store, the company said. More than 14 million songs had been purchased from the online music store since it was launched in April.

Strong sales of Apple's iPod music player were partly responsible for better than expected fourth quarter revenue for the company.

Apple chief executive Steve Jobs said it took seven days for a million songs to be purchased after the company's iTunes music store was first made available for Mac users in April. The service charges US99c ($1.40) per track, but has yet to be made available outside the US.
