Unaxis Data Storage and Mitsubishi Chemical have signed a technology cooperation agreement enabling the companies to market a DVD-R replication line featuring Mitsubishi Chemical's process.
The new "Fusion" replication line will be delivered with a guaranteed 4-second cycle time. Based on a "future-proof" concept, the line touts an optimized usage of material to guarantee best yield and uptime for years to come.
Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. (MCC) is Japan's largest chemical company and one of the world's leading suppliers of information storage products. MCC is also known as a strong technology leading company with recognized expertise in dye and phase change technologies.
Unaxis, which claims that over 80 percent of the world's rewritable discs are manufactured with the company's equipment, stated that "substantial orders" for the Fusion line have already been placed by the world's leading recordable media producers.
