Message Text: Sanyo, in corporation with Mitsui Chemicals, has recently announced a great innovation in optical media industry.

Specifically, an alternative method for media storage production has been revealed. This new method uses natural materials from plants as a raw material.

Using corn as the main raw material, the new media are lightweight and robust. With high heat resistance and transparency, the discs are fully recycled.

The name of the new disc series is MildDisk and it will be mainly used for audio CDs, CD-ROM and video CD.

Availability is expected by December 2003.
