AOpen has reduced its 2003 optical storage drive shipment target by 34%. Projected revenues for
the optical products in 2003 have also been lowered by 54%, according to DigiTimes.
The company, however, declined to provide the shipment and revenue figures. Currently, nearly 20%
of the company’s revenues are generated from sales of optical products.
Sales for motherboards, on the other hand, have showed improvements, and the company has raised
the yearly revenue target by 13.6%. The growth is mainly due to strong sales of products with
relatively high prices, the company said.
AOpen on August 27 lowered its 2003 financial forecast, projecting NT$17.524 billion in yearly
revenues, down from an earlier estimate of NT$20.119 billion. |
