Taiwan's optoelectronics industry production is forecast to exceed over NT$500 billion (US$14.5 billion) for 2003, National Science Council Vice Chairman Liao Chun-chen said.

Taiwan's optoelectronics industry production for last year was NT$493.8 billion, up 39 per cent from the 2001 level. Taiwan is now one of the world's three leading makers of LED, CIS, CD-R, STN-LCD and TFT-LCD.
