It seems a new firmware has been released by Plextor to resolve issues concerning burning at 20-40x speeds when the writing on recordable media fails.

The information comes from the Japan Plextor site and is about firmware version 1.02 for the Premium drive.

We hope the Japanese readers of our site will be able to provide us a more detailed description of the issues covered by the new firmware.
