As DigiTimes report "...CMC Magnetics, a Taiwan-based optical storage disc manufacturer, yesterday announced that it has raised its quote for CD-R discs to US$0.19 per unit, up US$0.01 from last month. The market anticipates Ritek may follow suit with a price hike in April. Second-tier CD-R discs makers have already raised CD-R disc prices by US$0.01 to US$0.02 per unit recently, but contract prices quoted by first-tier makers will always fluctuate less, said one of the manufacturers. The US$0.01 price rise could increase profit margins on CD-R discs by 5%..."
