Kano technologies launches retail

Kano Technologies (www.kanotechnologies.com), a new DVD+RW/R storage solutions company, introduced its first retail products today. The K2XTREME DVD+RW/R 2.4x internal and external drive packages tout “on-the-fly” video recording, enabling easy conversion of personal videos into DVDs.
The K2XTREME DVD+VR support allows the user to edit parts of a recorded DVD+RW disk without re-recording the complete disk, while maintaining the renowned DVD+RW playback compatibility. Also featured is Roxio’s new Easy CD Creator 5.3 DVD Edition with its popular easy-to-use interface. Additionally, award-winning NTI Backup NOW! Combo software provides complete desktop backup and restore.
Richard Young, president of Kano, stated, “The combination of the full feature versions of Roxio, NTI and the WIN DVD video playback software included in our retail packages is an $80 value. We believe we have provided the most easy-to-use and robust software package available for DVD+ users -- and at the best value.”
Young added, “What is great about this version of Roxio is the addition of a DVD button to the popular Easy CD Creator interface, so users have a single common interface for selecting CD or DVD recording. Users will find the NTI Backup Now! Combo extremely easy to use and feature-rich, with a wide array of backup choices to meet virtually every user’s needs. In fact, it’s the only software that provides full-image backup and specific-file backup to CD or DVD.”
Young also noted that the 4.7 GB storage capacity of DVD+RW/R media provides a very cost-effective backup solution. Worldwide support of the DVD+RW/R format ensures that archived data will be accessible for generations to come.
The K2XTREME’s internal drive package comes complete with ATAPI cable, audio cable, drive mount screws, DVD+R and DVD+RW media, and an instruction manual. Suggested retail price is $399.99.
The external drive comes in an attractive, fan-cooled enclosure with a built-in universal power supply and standard AC power cord. The package also includes the media and manual and is available in USB 2.0 or FireWire 1394 interface versions. Suggested retail price is $499.99.
