 Mediatek January sales slid 5.1%

Message Text: As DigiTimes report "...Mediatek posted January sales of NT$2.91 billion, down 5.1% from December on slower demand for PC peripherals after Christmas. The company expects February sales to fall as well, due to fewer working days and the low season..."

and continues "...Company chairman Ming-kai Tsai said at an investors conference that Mediatek’s first-quarter sales will decline 10-15% on-quarter to NT$7.5 billion to NT$8.5 billion. However, the company will maintain a gross margin of 47%, the same as last quarter, due to strong demand for DVD players and steady growth of its integrated servo/decoder chip for DVD players and DVD-ROM drives..."
