Message Text: Sigma Designs, Inc. (Nasdaq:SIGM), a leader in media processors for consumer appliances, along with KiSS Technology, a leading European vendor of DVD players, and Jamo, the leading European manufacturer of loudspeakers, jointly announced the development of a complete home cinema center with DivX Video(TM) compatibility. The new DVR-50 DVD receiver will be marketed in Europe by Jamo and will reach retail stores in May.

The Jamo DVR-50 DVD receiver offers playback of DivX Video(TM) and DVD scan technology that enhances the visual experience, along with an AM/FM tuner and a top quality 5x50 watt surround sound amplifier. Based on the Sigma Designs EM8500 advanced DVD decoder chip, the DVR-50 offers support for the widest range of audio/video formats, including progressive DVD, MPEG-4, DivX Video(TM), CD/MP3, CD-RW, SVCD, VCD, DVD-RW and DVD+RW playback. The DVR-50 also offers a unique MP3 playback with an advanced user interface and a photo album feature for digital photo collections.

"We are very proud to work together with Jamo, one of the most visionary producers of sound perfection in the world. It gives us an opportunity to bring out the very best in our DVD products," said Bo Lustrup, marketing manager, KiSS Technology.

The Jamo DVR-50 was co-developed by Jamo and KiSS Technology to combine the technological experience from KiSS with the perfection of sound from Jamo.

"With KiSS Technology, we have found a strong partner," said Leif Schmucker, International Product Manager, Jamo. "When the world-renowned Jamo sound is powered by equally advanced electronics, we are able to offer a totally integrated home cinema solution that is easy to set up and operate, looks great and delivers a vastly improved sound compared to the majority of "home cinema in a box" systems currently in the market."

"This is truly a high quality consumer product that stands at the leading edge of the digital media experience," said Ken Lowe, vice president of strategic marketing at Sigma Designs. "We are extremely impressed with the innovative features developed by KiSS Technology and the addition of Jamo's leading audio technology and marketing strength."
