Message Text: South Korean tech giants, Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc., are expected to showcase premium TVs and artificial intelligence (AI) technology at the upcoming IFA tech exhibition in Germany.

Samsung is expected to showcase its 8K (7,680x4,320 pixels) QLED TV. While there is not much 8K content in the market, Samsung is expected to apply its so-called up-scaling features on the new TV to improve the quality of Ultra HD content.

Samsung also plans to display its MicroLED TV, The Wall, along with its premium The Frame TV.

LG Electronics Inc. has not yet provided hints on the products to be displayed at the IFA, but industry watchers anticipate that the company will highlight 8K and MicroLED technology.

The consumer electronics giant is seeking to showcase various products equipped with AI features, such as the Styler ThinQ, a garment care appliance.

LG plans to promote home appliances running on its AI platform, the DeepThinQ, with LG Electronics CEO Jo Seong-jin set to deliver a speech in the German capital on the company's AI technology.

Samsung Electronics said earlier it will apply AI technologies on all of its home appliances by 2020.
