Now two of the largest providers of CD-R burners - LGE and LiteOn - have certified Ultragreen disc samples at 48x, currently the highest recording speed available in the market. Other recent high speed certifications include Plextor, Benq and Cyberdrive, all of whom have approved Ultragreen media at the maximum burning speeds available.
The media samples were produced by Plasmon using the latest developments in Ciba's Irgaphor Ultragreen MX CD-R dye technology, details of which are made freely available to Ciba's worldwide customer base.
The end of the race (or is it?)
With 52x drives rumoured to be around the corner, Ultragreen MX
is ready to go even further ..
Tests on a specially modified Pulstec DDU1000 test system at Plasmon
Data Systems have proved that Ciba's dye technology is a match for
any high speed burner - generating in-specification results at 52x
and even at a blistering 56x recording speed!
Ultra high speed test results on Ultragreen MX CD-R media
The test data measured using an industry standard AudioDev CD CATS
SA3 analyser, shows the excellent deviation and jitter properties of
a fully optimised Ultragreen MX disc. The 52x recording was made using a range of write powers, illustratingthe excellent jitter performance maintained over a broad range of writing conditions. |
