Message Text: Midbar announced today that the CDS processor, the encoder of the Cactus Data Shield copy control system, is now installed in manufacturing plants in Asia including Utech and Infodisc in Taiwan and several major manufacturing plants in Japan such as Toemi (Toshiba EMI), Nippon Columbia, Memory-Tech and PVC (Pioneer Video Corporation).

"The Asian market is moving ahead very quickly in adopting copy control technology as a means of combating music piracy," said Ran Alcalay, CEO of Midbar. "Midbar has millions of CDS protected CDs in the Asian market. To date, the releases have gone smoothly and we are pleased with the results."
