TEAC Japan announced today a new CD-RW drive with the codename "CD-W540E". It supports 40x writing, 12x re-writing, 48x reading, 8MB buffer, BURN-Proof, Mt. Rainier support and 72ms access time(!).
Specifications:
- Writing: 4x, 8x, 16x, 20x (CLV), 20-24x, 20x-32x, 20x-40x (Z-CLV) (*Note: When CD-DA and VideoCD being selected, writing speed is limited to 16x-24x)
- Re-writing: 4x, 10x, 12x (CLV)
- Reading: 48x (CAV) [CD-ROM (MODE1), CD-RW and CD-ROM XA MODE2 FORM1], 40x (CAV) [CD-ROM XA MODE2 FORM2 (Video CD), CD-DA]
