Message Text: The news is definitely exciting. Within 2002, OPTWARE Corporation seems that is about to develop a new optical disc technology, based on holographic recording and reading technique. The technology will be applied to new optical media and of course drives, which will hold up to 1 tera byte of data and will offer huge transfer rates that reach the 1 Gbps. The new media will have a common CD size (diameter 120mm) and the holographic drives will be compatible with the common CD/DVD technologies.

Holographic recording technology utilizes the thickness of the recording layer and the recording is applied to 3 dimensions, meaning that the recorded media can hold a very large amount of data.
