Message Text: Primera Technology today announced its ComposerPlus Optical Disc Duplicator. ComposerPlus is a low-cost duplication system that utilizes a single 24x CD-R recorder to duplicate and optionally print up to 100 discs per job from any Windows-based PC. After a duplication job has been started, the process is automatic and no further operator intervention is necessary. A precision “pick-and-place” robotic arm transports discs from the input bin to the integrated CD-R recorder. After recording, discs are transported to an optional Primera Technology ink-jet or thermal transfer optical disc printer where they are printed in full color in up to 2400 dpi print resolution.

ComposerPlus attaches to any PC running Windows 98, Me, 2000 or XP through its built-in FireWire™ interface. Also known as IEEE 1394 or i.LINK™, this interface allows high-speed transmission of data without errors. It also permits longer cable lengths than the SCSI interface that was previously used on Primera Technology’s CD and DVD duplicators. ComposerPlus comes equipped with Prassi PrimoCD Pro™ duplication software. Prassi, a division of well-known software vendor Veritas, has partnered with Primera Technology on ComposerPlus to offer a complete, professional disc duplication solution. ComposerPlus Model 62101 is priced at US$2795 (MSRP).
