Message Text: "...Trace Affex has introduced its latest and most advanced ink-jet color CD printer, the Affex CD-Artist IV for PCs and MACs. The Affex CD-Artist IV can be combined with an HP JetDirect external print server and networked for small workgroups. This allows the printer to be placed anywhere on the network -- and permits CDs to be printed from any PC on the network. The MSRP price for the Affex CD-Artist IV is $2495 MSRP

The first CD printer to use HP's powerful, color ink-jet technology, it represents a significant leap forward in imaging technology, performance and ease of use. Based on HP's 970-series DeskJet printer, the Affex CD-Artist IV delivers a print resolution of up to 2400x1200 dpi, the highest in the industry. Because it uses HP's enhanced PhotoREt color-layering, color optimization and color resolution technologies, it produces sharper images, natural skin tones and brilliant colors -- results that addressable dots alone cannot achieve. In addition, the Trace Affex proprietary CD-locking system provides a +/-.002`` print registration and the industry's most accurate ink-jet CD printing. The Affex CD-Artist IV comes with a steel snap-in locking tray that allows printing on standard 80mm x 63mm CD-R business cards. Users may order additional trays for special-sized CD-R business cards.

Affex CD-Artist IV is the first CD printer to use Trace Affex's Reload, a new feature that makes printing multiple copies of a CD simple and fast. The operator simply indicates the number of copies needed, loads a CD and then sends the print command. When the printer senses that the CD has been printed, it stops. Then, when the next blank CD is placed in the tray, the printer automatically resumes the print job. Low-ink indicators protect against wasted CDs and improve performance..."
