Message Text: "...M-Systems announced that its new Ultra-Wide SCSI Fast Flash Disk(FFD) product targeted for video and audio servers, telecommunications systems, and military applications is now shipping. The FFD Ultra-Wide SCSI is a high performance product with a burst read/write rate of 40MB/second, a sustained read rate of 31MB/second and a sustained write rate of 22MB/second. It is available in capacities up to 10.2 Gigabytes (10240MB) within a standard 3.5" form factor.

With its unique design and M-Systems' True Flash File System (TrueFFS), the 3.5" Ultra-Wide SCSI FFD has a performance advantage over other solutions by eliminating seek time, latency and other electro-mechanical delays inherent in conventional disk drives. The 3.5" Ultra-Wide SCSI FFD is available in capacities ranging from 256MB to 10,240MB. M-Systems offers additional FFD solid-state flash disk products available in 2.5" IDE and 2.5" and 3.5" SCSI packages..."
