Message Text: "...Primera Technology today unveiled an upgraded version of the Composer Optical Disc Duplicator that records CD-Rs at 16x speed. Previously, a 12x drive was shipped with the product. Composer now completes a full burn/print cycle in as little as five minutes per full 650MB disc. The speed of the burn/print cycle increases when less data is stored on the CD-R.

Composers already installed in the field can easily be upgraded to 16x. The upgrade must be performed at Primera Technology due to a necessary firmware change for the new drive because its tray moves in and out faster than the previous CD-R drive. The cost is a flat rate US$500 plus shipping. The cost of Composer with the new 16x drive remains the same at US$2495 MSRP..."
