Philips announces future revision of CD-R patent portfolio

"...With reference to the standard CD-R Disc Patent License Agreement administered by Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. on behalf of itself, Sony Corporation and Taiyo Yuden, a revision of the official patent portfolio will soon be announced.
Having been informed recently by Sony that a revision of the patent list attached to the Agreement may be necessary, Philips has endeavored to update that list. Among the possible revisions, approximately four essential patents owned by Sony would probably be added into the updated list. Philips will also take this opportunity to do a routine update of its own patents on the list.
In accordance with the spirit of the Agreement that all patents of Philips, Sony and Taiyo Yuden, which are essential to CD-R Discs should be included, Philips will soon issue an official notice enclosing an updated version of the list of Licensed Patents..."
