 Cebit 2001: 27 Companies announced support for the DVD+RW

Message Text: "...The DVD+RW Alliance today announced that a complete offering of DVD+RW products will be available this summer from HP, MCC/Verbatim, Philips, Ricoh and Thomson multimedia. The products that will become available will be hardware (both data drives as well as DVD+RW video recorders), media and software enabling end-users to create their own compatible DVD disc. Over 19 independent software vendors and equipment manufacturers pledged their support for DVD+RW and announced software availability.

At CeBIT 2001 show in Hannover, Germany, DVD+RW Alliance companies demonstrated applications using DVD+RW data drives and DVD+RW video recorders. The demonstrations of the DVD+RW data drives showed the unique two-way compatibility of the DVD+RW format. The demonstrations showed discs being written on a DVD+RW recorder which were then read and played on a variety of existing and DVD-Video players and DVD-ROM drives.

The following companies also expressed their support for the DVD+RW format: Ahead, BHA, Dazzle Digital Video Products, Funai, GEAR Software, MedioStream, MGI, NewTech Infosystems, Pinnacle Systems, Quantized Systems, Ravisent Technologies, Roxio, Software Architects, Sonic Solutions, Spruce Technologies, Toolex International, Ulead Systems, Veritas Software, VITEC Multimedia,Zapex Technologies..."
