Message Text: "...DataPlay announced today that it has secured a pact with BMG as a result of which the music major will prepare to make its new releases available on pre-recorded DataPlay digital media. About the size of a quarter, DataPlay digital media are single-sided 250MB and double-sided 500MB micro-optical discs that support both user-recorded and secure pre-recorded content.

Music labels can also include additional content, such as catalog albums or promotional offers, in a secure form on prerecorded DataPlay digital media. Consumers can activate this content over the Internet, without any time-consuming downloads.

This creates an opportunity for retailers and labels to promote and sell back catalogues and related merchandise..."
