 Sony ships CRX200E-RP DDCD recorder

Message Text: "...Sony will present in Cebit their new DDCD recorder. The DDCD CDR/RW (1.3GB) media is ready in massive production and soon the drive will hit the market. Contrary to conventional CD doubled storage capacity by a reduction of the track location as well as the minimum pit length one achieved. An improved error correction procedure is to prevent increased sensitivity opposite scratch and dust.

SONY CRX200E-RP DDCD recorder features:
12x writing, 8x re-writing, 32x reading
Buffer: 8MB
Anti-coaster technology: no(?)
Burns both normal CDR/RW and the new DDCD (1.3GB) CDR/W media
